The Organized Crime and Corruption Programme of the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) undertook a two-year study into the nature and extent of organized crime in the SADC region, which forms the basis for this monograph. This first volume examines Namibia, Mozambique, Tanzania and Swaziland. The country studies illustrate how organised criminal networks have succeeded in establishing a common criminal market for illicit goods that covers the entire Southern African sub-region.
