US attention to terrorism in Latin America intensified in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. Latin American nations strongly condemned the attacks, and took action through the Organization of American States (OAS) to strengthen hemispheric cooperation. This paper addresses US concerns regarding terrorism in Latin America as well as its connections with Iran and Hezbollah. It also presents US policies and initiatives to address this issue.
