This book contains a selection of papers presented at the 2009 conference on the challenges of climate change in Africa, and the formulation of possible legal responses to address these challenges. Effectively tackling climate change requires a multi-disciplinary approach. Law, and more specifically, environmental law, plays an important role in this respect, especially insofar as legal mechanisms are able to shape the behavior of people with respect to their interaction with the environment.
