The nuclear question and so-called 'tactical' nuclear weapons stationed in 5 European NATO member countries are back on the NATO agenda, sparking a debate on the pros and cons of a US nuclear presence in Europe. Some are in favor of a rapid withdrawal, whilst others highlight that a credible nuclear deterrence posture remains essential for NATO.
