The goal of this volume is to tackle both the institutional and the normative aspects of EU and member states' migration and border policies, and to open a wide debate on the interplay between them. The book is particularly interested in promoting a research framework which examines the interplay between the policy answers to migratory systems in Europe, on the one hand, and the emergence of a definition of EU external border on the other hand. The specific aim is to explore how the analysis of migration policy can contribute to EU bordering processes.
