This article elaborates and applies the concept of household economic strategies to an analysis of economic behaviour of households during the last phase of post-socialist transformation in Serbia. The main objective of this article is to examine forms of economic action at the level of households, patterns of economic adjustments to a changing society, and the effects economic strategies have on the socio-economic position of households.
