The Eastern Sudan Peace Agreement was signed on 14 October 2006 between the government of Sudan and the Eastern Sudan Front in Asmara, Eritrea. The agreement covers security issues, power sharing at a federal and regional level, and wealth sharing in regard to the three Eastern states of Kassala, Red Sea and Al Qadarif.
