The Amazon Cooperation Treaty (ACT) was signed on July 1978 by Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela to promote the harmonious development of the Amazon while incorporating the countries' Amazonian territories into their respective national economies.
