26 Jun 1963
This publication is a transcript of US President John F Kennedy's "Ich bin ein Berliner" speech from June 1963 that was retrospectively held to be a turning point in the Cold War. The main purpose of the speech was to function as a morale booster for West Germans who had just been closed off from East Berlin by the wall. What is more, the speech shattered Moscow's hopes of driving the Allies out of West Berlin.
