This paper examines the implications of the 2010 floods for jihadist influence in Pakistan. The recent floods in Pakistan have been one of the most terrible natural disasters the country has had to deal with since the Partition. It happened at a time of strong local tensions between radical Islamist groups, in particular, of course, the 'Pakistani Taliban', and the central government.
