The aim of this article is to present the comprehensive complexity of Russia-EU relations in the light of the so-called energy security. The starting point of the analysis will be the general frame of these relations and key characteristics of both entities in regard to wider European security and stability. This will be followed by the analysis of the political options that both EU and Russia have at their disposal for establishing a future policy acceptable for both sides.
