This Working Paper presents a model for estimating the size and likely growth of sovereign wealth funds in the countries of the Arabian Gulf. It is an attempt to shed light on an important set of actors in global capital markets whose activities are generally opaque. The model is necessarily based on the authors' assumptions; if these are off, the authors’ conclusions will be off.
