In its report for 2008, the Federal Council presents the main developments that marked the course of events at the UN of the previous year. It reviews a number of challenges for Switzerland’s host state policy and lessons to be learned from recent Swiss candidacy campaigns within the UN. In the conclusions, the Federal Council presents Switzerland’s priorities for the next session of the UN General Assembly, which began in September 2008.
