Energy independence and diversification of energy sources are the main objectives of the National Energy Strategy of Lithuania. The most important project is the construction of a nuclear power plant in Visaginas. However, due to internal disagreements, delays in implementing various stages of the project and changing external conditions, the creation of the project is not certain.
