Taking women as the key to successful conflict resolution, NATO member states must integrate a gender perspective in agreements which establish the foundations for stable peace, as envisaged in UN Security Council Resolution 1325. By introducing quotas in conflict resolution negotiations, including more women in peace-building operations and funding the military recruitment of females, women could finally experience the equality that was promised 11 years ago.
