This brief highlights the pitfalls of using counter-narrative campaigns to prevent radicalization. The text’s author concludes that 1) such narratives only work when their objectives, target groups and success criteria are precise and detailed, and 2) the storyline should not assume that it is possible to describe facts about reality – instead, they should address the feelings, dreams and opinions that target groups relate to.
