This paper explores some of the general ideas on country positions, strategies and success in the international climate negotiations for the specific case of India. While certain authors argue that India’s economic take-off in the early 1990s has also led to a significant change in its international negotiation strategy, others argue that the trend is not yet clear. This paper examines these arguments in the context of international climate policy.
