This roundtable report summarizes the proceedings of the SDA's February 2005 conference on the defense implications of EU and NATO enlargement for Central and Eastern Europe. The attendees consider the extent to which NATO remains the main driving force of transformation and interoperability in Central and Eastern Europe, and how this will influence the new EU member states' contribution to the European Security and Defence Policy. The panelists also discuss ways to revive the defense industries of the new NATO and EU member states.
