This roundtable report summarizes the proceedings of the SDA's January 2004 conference on the future of the European Defence Agency (EDA). The panelists discuss the scope, budget, and decision-making arrangements of the EDA; the role it might play in addressing European defense companies' difficulties vis-à-vis their American competitors; and whether it can become a pool of new funding in research and development.
