This commentary argues that the electoral success of the moderate Islamist party, Ennahda, will do no harm to successful democratization in Tunisia. In fact, the emerging coalition of left-wing and Islamist parties will enjoy broad acceptance in the population if they demonstrate a good political and economic track record. To ensure this, Europe should continue to support the democratization process above all by demonstrating trust and patience.
