This paper focuses on the Multiannual Financial Framework 2014-2020 proposals that the European Commission put forward, and on the possible interrelations of MFF post-2013 with Europe 2020 strategy and new economic governance mechanisms. Within this context, the study investigates the risks associated to a top-down approach and suggests mechanisms to reinforce the multilevel governance approach.
