The book discusses various aspects of the 'comprehensive approach' to international crisis management. The authors look at the blurring of the lines between military and civilian aspects of peace and stability operations; the national experience of the British Stabilization Unit; the firsts steps that should be taken in peace-building operations; military-NGO relations; and the role of anthropologists and historians in peace and stability operations. The volume ends with a discussion on perspectives for the future in crisis management.
