This paper presents and discusses the main participants in the German historical debate over the resettlements – Erika Steinbach and the Federation of Expellees which she chairs, along with the methods they used in their activities. It defines the three most popular myths concerning the discourse over the resettlements which have emerged in recent years and which are likely to propagate a distorted image of the course and consequences of World War II.
