This paper provides a model-based assessment of the impact of local and global climate change, particularly in the case of Yemen. (The measures of analysis include agricultural production, household incomes and food security.) The global simulation used in this paper concludes that climate change-induced price increases for food will raise agricultural GDP while decreasing real household incomes and food security. The impacts of local climate change, in contrast, are less clear given the ambiguous predictions of global climate models with respect to future rainfall patterns in Yemen.
