This brief considers the security situation in India’s neighborhood. The authors argue that turmoil in this area creates a variety of internal and external security challenges for India. Chief among these are terrorism, maritime security and border management. The brief concludes that India needs to maintain a sharp focus on its neighborhood as a stable and friendly South Asia is essential for the country's progress.
