This policy brief draws attention to some of the main challenges that the newly elected president of Guinea will face and gives policy recommendations on how to address these challenges. The author identifies five priority areas for the president, namely: national reconciliation; inclusive governance; the fight against impunity and the establishment of the rule of law; reform of the security sector; and improvement of the living conditions of the masses.
