This commentary looks at the debate on the future of the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP). Serious differences of opinion have emerged among the member states regarding the ENP. The countries located in the southern part of the EU want Brussels to boost its policy towards North Africa. The author argues that if this is done at the expense of engagement with Eastern Europe and the Southern Caucasus region, as proposed by these states, the chances of meeting the EU's Eastern Partnership goals could be reduced.
