This report talks about the potential revival of the Arab Peace Initiative (API) first proposed by the then-Crown Prince, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia at the 2002 Beirut Summit of the Arab League. The author argues that while several aspects of the API represent significant and positive developments in the official, collective Arab view of the future of Israel in the Middle East, Israel should refrain from accepting the initiative as a basis for peace negotiations because it contains seriously objectionable elements. Israel should also reject the "all or nothing" approach of the Saudis and the Arab League.
