This report discusses developments in Afghanistan against the backdrop of the US offer for dialogue with the moderate Taliban. This reconciliation effort was refused publicly, however, behind the scenes, the negotiations between the representatives of the Afghan government and the Taliban are going on successfully with the Taliban seeming to be inclined to soften their strict demands on women’s education and music etc.
