This report looks at the first six months of Haiti's President Martelly in office arguing that he the earthquake-devastated country has made little progress during this time. Martelly’s mandate was largely given to him by the country’s youth, who have high expectations of him. The reconstruction process, however, is slow, and frustration and disgruntlement are growing among the population. Integrating youth into the reconstruction process is important for reasons of political stability, argues the author. They also represent the country’s most important resource making up the large and better-educated part of the workforce.
