This paper explores Turkey’s new foreign policy in the Middle East. It argues that under the Justice and Development Party (Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi-AKP) administration Turkey’s Middle East policy has undergone a significant reconfiguration. It also suggests that while Turkey is indeed gaining in regional strategic weight, moving too fast might lead to significant turbulence and setbacks.
