This report summarizes a conference held on June 16 and 17, 2011 on the impact and challenges of the Arab Spring. According to conference participants, the crisis is seen as a source of opportunities by some and a source of risks and tensions by others. The three beneficiaries of the Arab Spring are Turkey, Iran and the Arab peoples. The author argues that while the crisis has led the US to redefine its posture towards the region, NATO, the EU and the UN have everything to gain by greater cooperation.
