Looking at the trends in Bolivia, Colombia and Brazil, this policy brief discusses the growing disparity between political and business integration in Latin America. The author argues that, unlike political regional integration processes, Latin American business integration is moving forward at a fast pace as evidenced by the Pacific Accord free trade agreement signed by Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Peru. These developments, in turn, will affect regional politics in the coming years.
