Experts, researchers, officers and diplomats gathered at a seminar in December 2009 to take an in-depth look at the security challenges and strategic issues facing countries in the Gulf region. This report gives an overview of the main regional actors and challenges identified by seminar participants. Special attention is given to the stabilization of Iraq, issues surrounding Iran and the future of the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative.
