This is a transcript of a speech by the Governor of Kwara State in Nigeria, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, on experiments with commercial agriculture in Nigeria. He argues that Nigeria has all it takes to be an agricultural powerhouse and still spends about $4 billion annually on food imports. The speaker explains the reasons for Nigeria's under-performance in agriculture and discusses the initiatives undertaken in the Kwara State to address this.
