This report investigates the effects of piracy on Kenya, including the costs that can be seen at the local level. It also evaluates counter-piracy efforts to date focusing on those made by Kenya and considers how Nairobi could make a more robust contribution to these initiatives. The report concludes with a number of recommendations that encapsulate the varied approach required to counter maritime piracy.
