This presentation speculates on the turnout and factors influencing the forthcoming (2011-2012) elections in Egypt. It suggests that Egypt’s optimism wanes as economic and security concerns mount, with security worries greatest in Cairo and Fayoum. The Army and the judiciary, however, still enjoy widespread popularity.
