The author discusses the Northeast Asian regional cultures and how current US security strategy relates to them. Taking into account that the US no longer has the preponderance of economic or military power in the region, and that old tactics will not continue to work effectively, he makes recommendations for addressing regional cultural influences to meet US objectives and protect US interests.
