Publication

This commentary discusses the effects of the publication of the technical findings of UN inspectors on the nuclearisation of Iran. It argues that publishing the findings actually changes the content of the international debate on the topic. The country represents a threat to the security of the US and its allies in the Middle East. Differences in perceptions of the scale of this threat to the US and Israel are translated into different preferences for military strategy. Although a US preemptive strike is unlikely, it might not be ruled out by Israel.
