This report examines the 2006 Congolese elections. It discusses the situation on polling day, the electoral calendar afterwards, the security situation, and possible scenarios which might unfold once the results have been made public. The author contends that the the overall impression from observation teams indicate that the elections were peaceful, transparent, credible and well managed.
