This paper examines the political economy of Uganda’s fisheries sector. The authors first give a brief overview of the fish sector before outlining the analytical framework they adopt. They then go on to introduce Uganda's political settlement before giving an account of the development of the Ugandan fisheries sector, particularly since the 1980s, thereby outlining the most important policies, implementation arrangements and results (PIRs) in the sector. Finally, the authors conclude by explaining the PIRs using their analytical framework.
