This article focuses on the role that gender plays in the implementation and effectiveness of social protection programs in Bangladesh. This paper focuses on a program called "Challenging the Frontiers of Poverty Reduction (CFPR)", which aims to empower women by providing them with productive assets. The aim of this paper is to analyse the extent to which CFPR addresses gender-specific economic and social risks to support the reduction of poverty and vulnerability and to inform continued efforts to strengthen the effectiveness of social protection in Bangladesh.
