This case study evaluates donor support to political parties in Georgia. Although in theory, political parties play a central role within well-functioning democracies, the reality in the developing world is that political parties are often weak and disconnected from the policy process. With this in mind, new research was undertaken into international assistance to political parties and party systems. This case study forms part of this research and is based on fieldwork conducted in Tbilisi, Georgia in May 2010.
