The appointment of Prime Minister Vjekoslav Bevanda ended a long-lasting political crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina caused by difficulties after the 2010 parliamentary elections. The new government will have to deal with the problems of a weak state and opposing visions held by its three main nations of its future. The EU should continue efforts to enhance a domestic dialogue on constitutional reform and should indicate that cooperation between the political elites of the country on democratization will result in rapprochement with the EU.
