This issue focuses on the human rights of persons with disabilities. The purpose of this issue is to promote a wide debate on the impacts of the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and its Optional Protocol, and to evaluate the consequences of this normative evolution for national and regional systems in the Global South. The final selection of articles presents a diverse approach to disability-rights, both in terms of regional representation and thematic scope.
