This report summarizes a conference on African security organized as a result of the debates that had been ignited over the creation of the US Africa Command (AFRICOM). It deals with the nature of stability and security in Africa itself and with the coordination among US government programs and actors aiming at increasing security and stability. The report comes forward with several recommendations.
