The towering structure of the building that will house the Canadian Museum for Human Rights now stands prominently on the east of Winnipeg’s skyline. Even as work continues to complete the building, however, controversy continues over what will be inside it - in particular, over the nature and scope of its planned galleries devoted to the Holocaust and other significant genocides or historical incidents of mass atrocity.
