This paper discusses cooperation between the EU and Japan in relation to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty over the period 2001-2010. It explores to what extent the EU and Japan have cooperated on the promotion of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) since 2001. It identifies the driving forces behind, and the barriers to, cooperation. Finally, it explores new ways to foster further cooperation.
