This issue focuses on the concept of transitional justice and its application as well as human rights in more general terms. The first two articles discuss the role of NGOs in the UN Human Rights Council, and a reflection of transnational legal activism in the context of human rights cases in Brazil. The second section of the issue concentrates on transitional justice discussing local application, focusing on the Cambodian and Africa cases, incorporation/integration with traditional legal systems, truth and reconciliation projects in Australia, the fight against poverty, and finally an interview with human rights activist Juan Méndez, president of the International Center for Transitional Justice.
