The future of NATO’s nuclear weapons is discussed in light of changes in security threats in the 21st century. While traditional threats have receded new threats such as nuclear terrorism and proliferation have emerged. These developments allow and require changes in NATO’s nuclear posture and the author provides considerations to keep in mind for future steps.
